CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSE 1971
The third annual session was held in Chattanooga, Tennessee at Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church. Reverend Henry R. Delaney, Pastor, July 23-25, 1971. Family dinner was served at the church on Friday at 2:30 P.M. The entertainment included a trip to Lookout Mountain and the banquet was held at Holiday Inn, headquarters for the Reunion. Sunday worship was held at Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church with Reverend G.M. Champion delivering the 11 :00 A.M. sermon and Reverend L W. Jay of Butler Street C.M.E. Church of Atlanta, Georgia delivering the 3:00 P.M. sermon. Reverend Jay was accompanied by the famed Butler Street Choir. Our founder conducted the memorial service. The first Family of the Year award was presented to Reverend & Mrs. George M. & Annie Mae Williams Champion & Family.
