Reunion 2014
ATLANTA, GEORGIA 2014
The forty-sixth Williams Family Reunion was hosted by the Metro-Atlanta Branch in downtown Hotlanta! Our host hotel was the luxurious Marriott Marquis, featured in the "Hunger Games 2" movie!
Our Friday night meeting was held at Big Bethel AME Church on "Sweet" Auburn Avenue, during which the children enjoyed the game truck featuring an arcade of games. Afterwards, we enjoyed dinner catered by Kenley's Restaurant and desserts by Patience Mitchell. We returned to the hotel for relaxation in the hospitality suite (and cards games for the pros and video games for the children in individual meeting rooms). The young adults (Generation 6) enjoyed a night on the town.
Saturday morning, we enjoyed a wonderful cookout at Grant Park, and swimming back at the hotel pool. Saturday night, we celebrated our 46th Reunion in style at the banquet, with pictures by Joshe Martin. Our family of the Year - Mr. & Mrs. Eric and Lovetta Thompson & Family - received a beautiful plaque, and our children and young adults really shined during the talent portion. After the banquet we enjoyed card and board games in the hospitality suite, and the young adults (G-6) enjoyed another night on the town.
Sunday morning, we enjoyed an inspiring worship service at Big Bethel AME Church where our very own Rev. Robert R. Shaw II delivered a powerful message "Some Things Are Worth Fighting For". Afterwards, we enjoyed another delicious meal catered by Kenley's Restaurant.
